12th September 2008.
Time is flying past and I can't believe that we are already two weeks into September. Does that mean we only have about six weeks left?
Dave is now back at work after the summer holidays. As for me it felt very strange and sad not to be going back into school and seeing all the staff and children.
Apart from doing a little bit of work here and there, I am now in full swing of trying to tie up all the loose ends for getting Cycling Nomads on track for our departure on the 29th October. To be honest, we are pretty much there now in terms of our equipment, however, we didn't realise how fiddly it is trying to get rid of everything - it is amazing how many things you can amass and how many ties we have created over the past five years.
Between now and our departure, we are trying to visit as many schools and organisations in the local area as possible, both to talk about our upcoming adventure, but also about our charities and following your dream. So if you know of any schools that would be interested to hear from us, please drop us a line.

We have now set up an open facebook group aptly named "Cycling Nomads" for another way to track us and see our pictures.
September has been another busy month promoting our adventure. We closed the RNLI conference on the theme "Inspiration" which we really enjoyed as was a great way to test out our presentation and then went to Poole Harbour Canoe to close their AGM, from there we have been into Explore!, our sponsor's Headquarters to present to all the staff there. Kelly has been on the local radio. Hopefully we can get a recording of it to upload as apparently Kelly can't remember a thing she said! Look out for us too in the Biggleswade Chronicle and Daily Echo.
Kelly has enjoyed going into a few schools to present so far and is hoping to go into a few more to give assemblies and talk about sustainable travel. Both children and staff have been very receptive and the presentation, after being constantly tweaked for weeks, it is now finally to her liking! What a perfectionist!
We have begun the process of cleaning out our flat and selling off as much as we can, so we have said a sad farewell to our kayaks, we are now enjoying a TV free zone, which is blissful and anything not bolted down is being separated for charity, storage, selling or for friends!
